English level B1 • CEFR

At the end of English level B1, you can:
  • understand the main points on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
  • deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an English-speaking area.
  • produce simple connected text on topics, which are familiar, or of personal interest.
  • describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

B1 study targets

Our English level B1 (Intermediate) study targets express the most relevant components for an B1 learner. These language points can be used to set “Can do” targets for self-study or to develop your study programme in an English course with a qualified trainer.
